When to report
Report a restaurant when you see something that could make people sick: pests, staff handling food with dirty hands, raw meat dripping onto other food, food clearly left out, no hot water, or sewage problems. A rude server or a cold burger is a customer service issue, not a safety complaint.
How to file
- Write down the restaurant's name, address, date and time, and exactly what you saw. Photos help.
- File a complaint with the Florida DBPR Division of Hotels and Restaurants through the online complaint form at myfloridalicense.com, or call the DBPR Customer Contact Center at 850-487-1395.
- If you think you got food poisoning, also contact the Florida Department of Health in Flagler County and see a doctor if symptoms are severe. Health officials track illness clusters, which is how outbreaks get found.
What happens next
DBPR reviews the complaint and may send an inspector for an unannounced complaint inspection. Those visits show up in public records as "Complaint Full" or "Complaint Partial", and on Flagler Food they appear on the restaurant's page like any other visit. You can file anonymously, but contact info lets the inspector follow up with questions.
