Barbecue and Southern cooking in Flagler County

Smokehouses, backyard barbecue, wings and Southern kitchens in Bunnell, Palm Coast and Flagler Beach, with inspection records.

Low and slow

Out west toward Bunnell and along US-1 you'll find the county's barbecue: smokers going since dawn, pulled pork and brisket by the pound, ribs on weekends, and sides like collards and mac and cheese. Palm Coast adds wing joints, chicken spots and Southern kitchens.

Barbecue is the classic hot-holding challenge. Meat cooked for hours has to be held at 135°F or higher, or cooled fast and reheated properly. Look for hot-holding and cooling findings first when reading these records.
